The Learning Garden
The Edible Learning Garden is a community garden and outdoor classroom where Rancho Vista students extend and apply their grade level science learning with hands-on (and mouths on!) experiences.
All K-5 classes visit the
learning garden a minimum of five times each year. They participate in a
variety of garden themed activities including learning about agriculture,
sustainable farming, composting, nutrition, pollination, and plant related
chemistry.
Rancho Vista hosts garden work parties several times each year to maintain and improve the garden area.
Garden Volunteers
We are excited to get our hands dirty with your students in the garden this year. Each classroom will visit the garden with their class five times during the school year for 30 minutes. No gardening experience needed!! Just bring a love of the outdoors and a big hat.
